Blue Tie Ball 2019

September 28, 2019
Bethesda North Marriott
The Annual Blue Tie Ball benefited the Holy Cross Cancer Institute, so our designs incorporated dimensional ribbons to symbolize the fight against cancer. We divided the ballroom to create ease of flow from reception to gala, and to encourage guests to visit the donation stations inside the ballroom. The client wanted to highlight patient stories so we produced impactful double-sided graphic displays relating to the hope Holy Cross offers patients as a regional leader in people-centered care. Floral accents and LED tables were effective in making these primary focal points.
The entertainment stage faced towards the reception space and featured our energetic translucent streamer backdrop backed by a white cyclorama. On the other opposite side, we created a giant dimensional ribbon loop that twirled across the set of elegant cream drape. We did everything you see here, from the furnishings, graphics, lighting, floral and stage.
International Astronautics Congress 2019
Lunar Lounge

October 21, 2019
Walter E. Washington Convention Center
The 70th International Astronautical Congress celebrated both the victories past and exciting future of space exploration; commemorating the fifty-year anniversary of the first lunar landing. For the 6,000+ astronauts, scientists and space enthusiasts attending this multi-day conference, it was important to have a dedicated area within the exhibit hall to grab a cup of coffee and a moment’s reprieve.
Our team curated an ultra-modern charging lounge backed by an LED galaxy backdrop to bring this otherworldly tone to life. The focal point was a giant custom cut-out of Neil Armstrong’s most famous quote. This dimensional foam fabrication we designed served as a popular selfie opportunity for guests, as they imagined themselves in Armstrong’s moon foot print back in 1969.
Many years worth of experience and skills building custom exhibit structures was utilized in the branded coffee kiosk facade that kept registrants going throughout three days of general sessions.
We know the Washington Convention Center inside and out, so our client was confident that we could transform this massive space in all the ways they had envisioned.
