Our History

From its origins as a FTD florist in Rosslyn, Virginia, Encore Decor has grown into one of the premiere special event decorators in the mid-Atlantic region.

In 1993, Ken Rosen sold three businesses in the food service and wholesale/retail floral industries to purchase Floral Affairs - an FTD florist specializing in “weekly flowers” whose customers included local hotels, office lobbies, and catering companies.  After a few years, Ken began expanding the business into other event service offerings.  A move to Silver Spring, Maryland in 1997 was followed by significant expansion and the renaming of the business to Encore Decor.  The company continued to grow in reputation and size with major expansions in 2003, 2005, and 2009. 

Over the years Encore Decor has decorated events for clients as diverse as BAE Systems, Marriott International, Boeing Corporation, Howard University, the DC Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, NASA, the National Kidney Foundation, and the Boy Scouts of America.  We look forward to listing your event as part of our history…
